Cohor, son of Noah, was a Jaredite king who ruled one of two kingdoms in the early generations after the tower. His father Noah, a son of Corihor and grandson of Kib, had rebelled against the reigning king Shule, drawn away Cohor and his other brothers, and won the land of their first inheritance in battle, making himself king over that part of the land (Ether 7:14-16). After Noah was slain, his son built up the kingdom in his place, and the country remained divided into two kingdoms: the kingdom of Shule and the kingdom of Cohor, son of Noah (Ether 7:19-20).
Cohor caused his people to give battle against Shule, who defeated them and slew Cohor (Ether 7:21). Cohor’s son Nimrod then gave up the kingdom of Cohor to Shule and gained favor in his eyes; Shule bestowed great favors on Nimrod and let him act in the kingdom according to his desires (Ether 7:22).
