Coriantor was a Jaredite, the son of Moron, born after Moron had been overthrown and reduced to captivity (Ether 11:18; Ether 1:7). Coriantor dwelt in captivity all his days (Ether 11:19). In his time many prophets came warning that unless the people repented, the Lord would destroy them, and that he would bring another people to possess the land (Ether 11:20-21). The people rejected the prophets because of their secret society and wicked practices (Ether 11:22).
Coriantor was the father of Ether, the prophet who kept the Jaredite record (Ether 1:6; Ether 11:23). He died still in captivity, before the warned-of destruction came to pass (Ether 11:23). Ether outlived him and recorded the fall of the Jaredite people.
