Kumenonhi was one of the twelve disciples Jesus Christ chose during his ministry among the Nephites after his resurrection. He is named once, in the roster of the twelve given when the multitude gathered the morning after Christ first appeared to them (3 Nephi 19:4). The list places him between Kumen and Jeremiah.
The twelve were given power and authority to baptize (3 Nephi 12:1), and Christ touched each of them and gave them power to confer the Holy Ghost (3 Nephi 18:37). When Jesus later asked the twelve what they desired of him after his departure, nine asked that their ministry might end at the age of man so they could come to him in his kingdom, and he granted that they would come to him when they were seventy-two years old; three did not ask this (3 Nephi 28:1-3). The record gives no events specific to Kumenonhi beyond his place in the roster of the twelve.
