Levi, a Jaredite king named in the book of Ether, was the son of King Kim and the father of Corom (Ether 1:20-21). Kim had reigned in his father Morianton’s stead but did not reign in righteousness and lost the Lord’s favor; Kim’s brother rose in rebellion and brought him into captivity, where Kim remained the rest of his life. Levi was born to Kim there, in Kim’s old age (Ether 10:13-14).
Levi served in captivity for forty-two years after his father’s death, then made war against the king of the land and obtained the kingdom for himself. After taking the throne he did what was right before the Lord, the people prospered, and he lived to a good old age. He anointed his son Corom king in his place, and Corom likewise did good throughout his reign (Ether 10:15-17).
