레위

Levi was a Jaredite king, the son of Kim, who was noted for having reigned in unrighteousness and spent his later years in captivity (Ether 10:14). Despite the tumultuous and constrained early life, Levi spent a significant period serving in captivity after the passing of his father (Ether 10:15). After serving for forty-two years, he rose up against the ruling monarch and successfully obtained the kingdom for himself.

Once Levi became king, he enacted a drastic change in governance compared to his predecessor. His reign was characterized by righteous deeds that were favorable in the eyes of the Lord. Under Levi’s rule, the kingdom experienced a period of prosperity. He lived to an advanced age and had several sons and daughters. Among his offspring was Corom, whom he anointed as king to succeed him (Ether 10:16). Levi’s life and rule stand as a testament to his ability to break free from the cycle of captivity and unrighteousness, establishing a reign that brought wellness and prosperity to his people.
