An unnamed Jaredite called a “mighty man” rose during a rebellion that grew out of a secret combination built up to get power and gain. He gave battle to the reigning king, Moron, overthrew half the kingdom, and held that half for many years (Ether 11:15). The record gives no name, no account of his rule, and no report of his fate; Moron later defeated him and regained the kingdom (Ether 11:16).
A second “mighty man,” a descendant of the brother of Jared (Ether 11:17), then overthrew Moron and took the kingdom. Moron lived out the rest of his days in captivity, and his son Coriantor was born during that captivity (Ether 11:18).
