노아²

Noah² was a Jaredite king, a son of Corihor and grandson of Kib (Ether 7:14, 7:3). His father Corihor had earlier rebelled against Kib and held him captive, until Corihor’s younger brother Shule defeated him in battle, restored the kingdom to Kib, and afterward gave Corihor power in the kingdom when he repented (Ether 7:9, 7:13). Noah likewise rebelled, this time against both his uncle Shule, who by then was king, and his father Corihor, drawing away his brother Cohor and many of the people (Ether 7:15-18).

Noah gave battle to Shule and took the land of the Jaredites’ first inheritance, becoming king over that part of the land (Ether 7:16). He fought Shule again, captured him, and carried him to Moron (Ether 7:17). As Noah was about to put Shule to death, Shule’s sons crept into Noah’s house by night, killed him, broke open the prison, and restored their father to his throne (Ether 7:18).

After Noah’s death his son Cohor built up the kingdom in his place, splitting the land into two kingdoms, Shule’s and Cohor’s (Ether 7:19-20). Cohor made war on Shule, who defeated and killed him (Ether 7:21). Cohor’s son Nimrod gave up the kingdom to Shule and gained his favor, reuniting the Jaredite land under Shule, who protected the prophets sent among the people and executed judgment in righteousness until his death (Ether 7:22, 7:23-27).
