Uriah the priest is named in Nephi’s quotation of Isaiah as one of two men Isaiah took as faithful witnesses, along with Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah, to record the matter of Maher-shalal-hash-baz (2 Nephi 18:2). Isaiah had been commanded to write that name on a great roll; it was given to a son later born to the prophetess, and signaled that the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria would be carried off by the king of Assyria (2 Nephi 18:1-4). Uriah is named only here in the Nephite record, with no further detail given.
