The land of David was a Nephite territory named once in the record, during the retreat Mormon led in his first year as commander of the Nephite armies. In A.D. 327 the Lamanites attacked with great power and the Nephite armies retreated toward the north countries. The Nephites came first to the city of Angola, took it, and fortified it, but the Lamanites drove them out; they were then driven out of the land of David as well, and marched to the land of Joshua, which lay in the borders west by the seashore (Mormon 2:3-6). The record gives no further detail about the land of David.
