The land of Midian was a Lamanite territory east of Lehi-Nephi. When Ammon2 and his brethren saw the Lamanites preparing to destroy the Anti-Nephi-Lehies, they came to Midian, where Ammon met all his brethren. From there they went to the land of Ishmael to hold a council with Lamoni and his brother Anti-Nephi-Lehi about how to defend themselves against the Lamanites (Alma 24:5).
