Ores are materials from which metals are obtained and worked. In the land of promise, the Lehites found “all manner of ore, both of gold, and of silver, and of copper” (1 Nephi 18:25).
Nephi taught his people to work wood, iron, copper, brass, steel, gold, silver, and “precious ores, which were in great abundance” (2 Nephi 5:15).
Both the land north and the land south contained gold, silver, and “precious ore of every kind.” Skilled workers “did work all kinds of ore and did refine it,” producing many kinds of riches (Helaman 6:11).
