Shimnilom was a city of the Lamanites, named among the Lamanite lands and cities whose people were converted unto the Lord under the preaching of the sons of Mosiah (Alma 23:8–17). Its inhabitants were among those who laid down their weapons of war and took upon themselves the name Anti-Nephi-Lehies, by which they were distinguished from the other Lamanites (Alma 23:12-13, 16-17).
The record gives no geographic, demographic, or military detail about Shimnilom; it is named only once, in the roster of converted cities (Alma 23:12).
