Moriantum was a Nephite location named in a letter from Mormon to his son Moroni late in Nephite history. Mormon reports that the Nephites at Moriantum had taken many of the daughters of the Lamanites prisoner and deprived them of their chastity and virtue. They then murdered the women, torturing their bodies to death, and devoured their flesh, which Mormon says they did as a token of bravery. He writes that this abomination of his own people exceeded that of the Lamanites (Moroni 9:9-10).
