Ablom was a place by the seashore in Jaredite territory, reached by King Omer after he fled his kingdom. Akish and his friends had overthrown Omer through their secret combinations, but the Lord warned Omer in a dream to depart the land (Ether 9:1-3). Omer left with his family and traveled many days, passing by the hill of Shim and the place where the Nephites were destroyed, then went eastward and came to Ablom, by the seashore. There he pitched his tent, along with his sons, daughters, and household, except for Jared and his family (Ether 9:3).
