셰라이자 (내부 지도 가설)

Sherrizah was the site of a tower from which the Lamanites took many Nephite prisoners — men, women, and children — late in the Nephite-Lamanite wars. It is named only in a letter from Mormon to his son Moroni, written from knowledge Mormon received from Amoron. The men were slain, and the captive women and children were fed the flesh of their slain husbands and fathers and given little water (Moroni 9:7).

Many widows and their daughters remained in Sherrizah. The provisions the Lamanites had not carried away were taken by the Nephite army of Zenephi, leaving the survivors to wander for food, and old women fainted and died on the way; Mormon’s own army was weak and could not reach them, the Lamanite armies standing between Sherrizah and his position (Moroni 9:16-17).
