Twenty Four Jaredite Plates are twenty-four plates “filled with engravings” and “of pure gold.” They were brought “for a testimony that the things that they had said are true” (Mosiah 8:9).
The people of Limhi found the plates, and Ether said, “I take mine account from the twenty and four plates,” calling it “the Book of Ether” (Ether 1:2). Limhi delivered the plates to Mosiah, who translated them because his people wished to know of those who had been destroyed (Mosiah 28:11-12). Mosiah used “two stones which were fastened into the two rims of a bow,” and he finished translating from the destruction of that people back to “the creation of Adam” (Mosiah 28:13, 16-17).
